Led the team that replaced the bluestone layer under streets with a recycled PE100 sub-layer that stores stormwater. Simulated under a 70 t/m² traffic load, checked against rainfall of up to 110 mm/hour, and tested a reduced-scale model under a proportionally higher load. Result: 80% less bluestone and 70% more water storage.

This is a durability-first stormwater management concept built around real failure modes. I approached it as an infrastructure problem where robustness and service life matter more than visual styling. I looked at issues like clogging, debris, maintenance burden, and how systems behave under heavy flows.

The goal was to define a system that can keep working when conditions get ugly, because that’s exactly when cities need it most.
