L'OR Barista Petite: Thinnest Coffee Machine

The L'OR Barista line needed a more compact, sustainable double-capsule machine for space-constrained European kitchens. I contributed to industrial design and engineering, prototyping in 3D CAD and exploring colors, materials, and finishes within manufacturing and sustainability constraints. A machine just 8 cm wide, the thinnest in its class, built with 80% reused parts from existing platforms. Launched as the L'OR Barista Petite, now available across Europe.

SteamBox: 70% Better Steam Flow

The original SteamBox lunchbox heated unevenly, leaving cold spots that frustrated daily users. I redesigned the inner container to improve steam circulation, using a gas-permeable, waterproof material and reworked geometry. Built CAD prototypes, ran client presentations, and tested the design through 3D-printed iterations. Improved steam permeability by 70%, achieving more uniform heating and a stronger user experience for hot food on the go.

Red Light Strip: Stretchable LED Therapy Sleeve

Combining LED light therapy with athletic wear meant solving a contradiction: stretchability wants loose structures, electronics want stability, comfort wants softness. I researched materials and designed a custom stretch pattern, integrating LEDs, conductive threads, and Arduino Lilypad into a wearable sleeve. Hands-on prototyping and stretch testing drove the design. Achieved +150% stretchability while keeping LEDs functional, packaged as an expo-ready wearable concept.

StormRider: 70-Ton Stormwater System

Cities increasingly face flooding, debris-clogged drainage, and crushed-pipe failures from heavy rainfall and modern urban loads. I redesigned a modular stormwater management system focused on durability, maintenance, and failure modes, validated through engineering review and load simulation. A modular system that withstands 70 tons of load and filters rainfall up to 110 mm/hour. Robust infrastructure designed for the exact conditions cities need it for.

ECS Tests: Robotic Ear Canal Simulator

Sonion wanted to reproduce, repeatably and in the lab, what ear wax does to a hearing-aid receiver. During a five-month internship I engineered an ear canal simulator around an ABB YuMi robot: 3D-printed canal modules and RIC/dome fixtures in SolidWorks, an eight-step wear-and-service protocol, the robot program that runs it, and a Windows test assistant that configures each run and processes the camera captures.

Upress: Hands-Free Recycled HDPE Sheet Press

Stichting Stunt, an upcycling company in Delft, needed recycled HDPE sheets thicker than existing presses can make. I designed Upress, a hands-free sheet press: ideation sketches of tabletop and standalone layouts, heating-pattern and guiding-pole experiments, a heating-plate force simulation, and the CAD and technical drawings of the final machine. It pressed 40 mm sheets and cut internal cavities from 30 mm to 3 mm versus a comparable machine.

MyLeveling: Shelf-Ready Supplement Packaging

MyLeveling's supplement packaging needed to translate the brand identity to a shelf context, where it had to communicate quality and category in under three seconds against louder competitor packaging. I extended the brand identity to packaging with focus on clarity, hierarchy, and shelf presence, designing across product variants. Packaging that holds its own in a crowded category and reads as confident, not loud. Shipped across the product line and used as the visual standard for new variants.

PackBack: Automatic Reusable-Cup Activation

Reusable cups only return smoothly if staff remember to activate them. A missed scan becomes a rejected cup at the return machine. I developed two service-side concepts that make activation automatic: an NFC tray coaster that activates the cup when it is placed on the tray, and an RFID fence at the counter that activates cups during handover, with sketches, system schemes, 3D visuals and a comparison on reliability, workflow fit and cost. Technical drawings stay under NDA.

Pals & Palms: Award-Winning Outdoor Kids Game

Designing a kids' outdoor game requires removing every layer of confusion — children disengage instantly when rules feel unclear. In a university–BS Toys collaboration, I designed Pals & Palms, a pirate-themed outdoor game with simple rules, repeatable play loops, and self-teaching mechanics. I led ideation, prototyping, packaging, and presentation. Won #1 Product at the IDE Expo and was selected by BS Toys for further consideration.
